About Me

My name is Tara Pruitt and I joined the ISB family this year as the Lower School Counselor and Learning Support Specialist.  I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education-Cognitively Impaired with a minor in History (General Education) and a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Eastern Michigan University.  Through the state of Michigan (USA), I have certification in teaching according to my undergraduate degree and in counseling K-12.

Prior to ISB, I had the opportunity to serve as a counselor and learning support specialist at an international school in Hong Kong.  During this time,  I also provided volunteer counseling services to women facing issues such as depression, job stress, relationship conflicts, addiction and abuse.  Before Hong Kong, I also served as a school wide counselor at an international school in Cairo, Egypt.

In my home country, America, I taught social studies in a self-contained classroom for children with special needs at the middle school and high school level.

My faith, family and friends are important to me.  Here in Belgrade, I spend time with my husband Tzephanyah, go new places, meet new people, cook, exercise, study, write stories, play saxophone and just experience life.

Living a healthy, balanced and peaceful life is my focus in counseling and a major component of my life.
